Who am I?

I will be 50 years old in November. Do I feel it? Some days yes and some days no. I have a husband of 26 1/2 years and 2 children. My baby just turned 18! My oldest just turned 22. The older a girl and younger a boy. They are very different, they are both basically good kids.

My baby is graduating HS this year. My daughter is in her 46th year of college. LOL No...she is majoring in SPED severe disabilities.... She has a couple more years to go.

I am a lunch manager at a public school, I do a breakfast program at another public school and I waitress at night. It is a crazy schedule but it allows me to be home when my kids are home. This was very important when they were younger but just as important now... We all remember our teenage years.

I am the oldest of 5 children.. Both my parents died young. Mom had Alzheimer's from the age of 60 to 68.. thant is when she finally died and stopped her suffering. She died on Mother's day... a present to us as she was slated to go to a nursing home the next day..something we promised we would not do but her disease had progressed enough that she could no longer be cared for at home.... All of us spent her last couple of days at the hospital with her...

Dad cared for her all those years and then 2 years after her death he just got up one morning... did his usual routine... he put on the coffee, showered, fed the cat and had a STROKE.

Thank God he only lived 12 days.. We all knew his feelings on living on machines and such. We had already been through it with mom... There were no questions we all agreed DNR. We spent his last days with him in hospital room only leaving ocasionally. My two sisters and I were having "coffee" with him at 2:30 in the morning when he finally passed on. I believe he saw who needed to see and it was time to go see Mom..

My siblings and I have remained close and we really want to always stay this way. We gather for holidays and birthdays etc. There are 5 siblings, 5 spouses and 11 children. Of course there always others invited on holidays... that is what we have always been like..
