Christmas

I survived... The stress leading up to Christmas is just crazy. The kids in school are "off the wall" ... strangers are just plain cranky.. stores are packed and traffic is crazy. It is probably my least favorite time of year. Then throw in a "huge" snow storm and well......

But I made it ! It is now the day after Christmas around noon and I am still in my Christmas PJ's. I have no energy to do anything, though I need to.

Christmas Eve was great.. I spent it with "my side" of the family.. Just siblings and kids.. totalling 23 because 4 live in Texas.. A little crazy and loud but great. Christmas day is spent with the"other side". Much smaller, only 11. still just as crazy and loud.

Now the test truly begin... My husband, son, daughter and I are ALL home for the next 10 days. This is a rare event . Pray for us ! LOL

Hi! I hope this reaches Cheryl Ann. I am also Cheryl Ann and was also named after the tugboat. Would just like to touch base with you. Thanks!

Hi Cheryl Ann:
I was also named after the "tug boat" My mom put 2 "ll's" on my name and gave me her first name as my middle name. Cheryll Ruth.
It is amazing to realize how many parents saw this movie and used the name of the tugboat for their daughters.
Take care,
Cheryll

Hi All Cheryl Ann's ...

I was looking for a model of the Cheryl Ann tugboat to replace the one my Dad built for me many years ago (there's one currently on eBay for $1,000, a bit steep for a plastic model!), when I ran into your blog. If you're interested, a company on the east coast sells DVD sets of the original "Waterfront" TV series staring Preston Foster. $25 for 44 episodes on 11 DVDs; I'm planning to order a set. The URL for the seller is http://www.sell.com/234CQ9.

BTW, a very dear lady friend of mine is named Cheryl Lynn ... close!

Take care,

I was named after the tugboat as well. It was at the very last moment that my father came into the hospital to tell my mother that I would be named Cheryl Ann, NOT Cynthia Diane as was previously planned on. Nice to know there are others out there named after the same tugboat. :)

I really find it amazing that my parents werent the only ones naming their daughter after a tugboat. Its a small world! Maybe we should have a Facebook page or something! There may be a lot more of us out there.

MEMORY WALK FOR ALZHEIMER'S

As you may know, I have a loved one who has been affected by Alzheimer's. My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the age of 60... very young. she suffered 8 long years with this humiliating disease. She died on Mother's day 2002. A very special gift to us all. She was supposed to be transfered to a nursing home the next day. We had promised NOT to put her in a home but we were no longer able to safely care for her at home. We kept our promise and she ended her suffering.....
Because I have seen firsthand the impact this disease has, I am participating in the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk®. Funds raised through Memory Walk help support scientific investigations into better treatments and a possible cure for Alzheimer’s. And for the millions already affected by the disease, Memory Walk donations help to provide care, support and education programs. Please help me make a difference by supporting me with a donation.Thank you in advance for your support.
